History
The inhabitants of Rhe are known for their unwavering industriousness as builders. Many generations ago, their governance structure consisted of the Dusanis Republic, comprising leaders from the community, and the Monnol Family monarchy, which held a special place in the hearts of the people. The Dusanis held sway over the empire, yet any law could be nullified by the Kral, a member of the ruling monarch family. Tielo Monnol, in particular, harbored the belief that all individuals should contribute to the betterment of society. Each year, he personally undertook a specific job alongside his fellow citizens, turning this into a nationwide celebration.
Tragedy struck during one such celebration, as a freak explosion at a factory claimed the lives of many political figures, including Tielo. The nation plunged into a prolonged period of mourning. A year later, on the anniversary of the tragedy, Tamoria's decision to wed Culs Knal, a leader from the Wrin region and a trusted member of the Dusans, raised eyebrows due to its controversial nature. Some speculated that the swift marriage was politically motivated, while others believed Tamoria was grappling with loneliness and depression. Regardless of the underlying reasons, this union played a pivotal role in the society's healing process.
Faced with the alarming rate of land erosion, the people embarked on an ambitious venture to construct city water pods. Despite its immense engineering challenges, this undertaking not only showcased the Cirilians' pride and communal spirit but also served as a unifying force. Although not a true Monnol by blood, Culs successfully persuaded Tamoria to appoint him to a novel role overseeing the nation's tasks. Over time, this position grew in influence, eventually propelling him to the position of Kral. This elevation, however, incited dissent among the Dusanis. Some believed Culs had manipulated his wife, potentially through the use of substances, into bestowing upon him the title reserved for those of Monnol descent.
Any dissenting voices opposing Culs's decisions were swiftly silenced – individuals mysteriously disappeared, were discovered deceased, or were accused of governmental corruption. Gradually, Culs amassed unrivaled power within the government, surpassing even his wife's authority.
Political
Tamoria Monnol, the spouse of the deceased Tielo Monnol, holds the formal position of authority within the Cirilians as their de facto leader. Her jurisdiction extends over the Dusanis Republic, where her influence is paramount. In an act of succession, Tamoria has bestowed the title of Kral, the highest echelon of leadership, upon her newlywed husband, Culs Knal. Through this appointment, she has vested Culs with complete and unrestricted dominion over the republic's affairs. The prevailing political framework actively suppresses any dissenting factions, criminalizes individual opposition, and wields extensive control over the inhabitants of Rhe.
The societal structure mandates that all forms of opposition to the established order are proscribed. This governance model exercises considerable oversight over everyone's existence on Rhe, requiring every citizen to merit their right to inhabit the realm by pledging their skills and unwavering commitment to the government. In exchange for this dedication, the government assumes the responsibility of furnishing sustenance, water, and secure accommodations to the populace.
Culture
The Kral holds dominion over a multitude of sectors, ranging from the military, healthcare, and education to infrastructure, manufacturing, mining, shipping, agriculture, and finance. The Dusans, more enforcers than advisors, play a pivotal role. The citizens of Rhe exhibit remarkable resilience and are renowned for their swift and effective contributions to the system's development. The Dusans meticulously chart out career trajectories for each child from birth onward. Their typical workday entails activities in the Yico fields, fishing in the Oclares Ocean, or participating in construction projects for the floating megacity pods.
The floating pods stand as a remarkable testament to engineering prowess, spanning around 10 km in diameter and descending 2 km beneath the surface. Atop the pods, one can find stunning tropical landscapes. Ingenious conduits capture and distribute sunlight from above, permeating every corner of the pod. These pods encompass diverse strata of functional hubs and residential districts. Life varies in terms of labor intensity, with the modest middle class enjoying more spacious abodes and dedicated transportation networks. While some individuals are permitted off-planet travel, they must adhere to predetermined departure and return dates, subject to clearance and vetting procedures.
Venturing deeper into the pod's layers, the initially pleasant ambiance of lush greenery and refined zones gives way to somber, turbulent streets inhabited by communities afflicted by narcotics. These areas serve as breeding grounds for illicit drugs and all forms of entertainment, providing an escape from the harsh realities of their existence. Surveillance devices saturate these neighborhoods, maintaining a watchful eye over the populace.
Planet
Rhe is classified as a hycean planet, orbiting as the fifth celestial body from the Zohar star. A vast 95% of its surface is blanketed in water. The limited landmasses that pepper its surface teem with diverse flora and fauna, acting as a natural divide between the turbulent Oclares Ocean and the serene Eboras Sea. These terrains are cultivated for agricultural purposes. Some areas are dominated by expansive manufacturing plants. When observed from space, the luminous floating cities of Rhe emerge, either shimmering during the day or emitting a soft glow from their beautifully engineered structures at night. Rhe is accompanied by its two moons, Kneda and Zedal, as well as the renowned Ril space station in its orbit.
