History

The Arczuuk society consists of six clans, engaged in perpetual conflict for supremacy. Eventually, the clans convened and designated a leader known as "The Dory," responsible for uniting them. Upon encountering the V’nu Fellowship, they swiftly realized the existence of various races within the Zohar System. Following a considerable span of time, a foundation of trust was established with the V’nus. Upon initiating trade relations, an agreement was reached allowing the V’nu to terraform Nepion, one of Corbic’s moons. What was anticipated to be a momentous occasion turned into the Arczuuks' darkest historical chapter.

An explosion shattered the moon into sizable fragments that plummeted to the planet, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives. This catastrophe ignited a prolonged conflict between the Arczuuk and the V’nus, leading to substantial casualties on both sides. The conflict expanded to encompass other races within the system until the New Genesis Union Treaty finally brought an end to the hostilities. The V’nu held one of their military leaders accountable, asserting the incident was an accident. This leader and their team faced trial and were subsequently executed. Despite embracing the terms of the union treaty, the Arczuuks continued to experience intermittent disagreements with the V’nu.

Politics

The Arczuuks exhibit a strong inclination towards warfare and adhere rigorously to codes of honor. Participation in governance is restricted solely to landowners. At intervals of fifty years, the reigning leader also referred to as "The Dory," is challenged for their leadership role along with all their material assets. This occurrence typically culminates in a fatality, or the triumphant contender might grant clemency to the defeated, allowing them to live out their days in exile on Ahemait Island, marked by dishonor.

Directly beneath the position of the Dory exists the N’Vaadwook Council. Every twenty-five years, eligible citizens cast their votes to determine the composition of this council. While a few seats are occupied by women, the prospect of attaining the Dory title is forever closed to them. Individuals who secure positions in the N’Vaadwook Council commit to allocating a portion of their wealth to the leader—whether it comprises land, finances, progeny, or even a spouse.

Culture

The Arczuuk society comprises six distinct clans, each originating from a different continent and sharing commonalities in terms of cuisine, combat techniques, and cultural practices. However, these shared traits have historically fueled conflicts among them. Central to Arczuuk's life are family ties and agricultural pursuits, which are deeply intertwined. The size of a family is directly proportional to the amount of land they possess. Ownership of land bestows the honor of participation in both the military and the government.

Structured as a three-tiered system, Arczuuk society is stratified. At the upper echelon are the Katics, an affluent and proud class that wields considerable wealth. Their influence permeates society, maintained through the Ruuva Guards—a formidable contingent of warriors comprising members from all eight clans of Corbic—which serves as the military arm of the Council. The Katics' dominance shapes the societal landscape.

Beneath them lies the Srurs class, commonly referred to derogatorily as "Soreks." They constitute the labor force of society. Some among the Srurs have managed to secure their freedom through purchasing and inhabiting autonomous settlements granted by the Council. However, this so-called freedom given to them by the Council through these settlements, although seemingly liberating, is seen by some as a misleading construct, offering only a semblance of independence from the overbearing influence of the Katics.
